Student Activity Fee Allocation Council

What is the SAFAC?

The SAFAC follows the guidelines set forth within the Structure and Guidelines documents housed within the OVPSA.

The Student Activity Fee Allocation Council (SAFAC) allocates student activity fees to enable and empower a student-created and led, thriving community of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) and student experience for all students. In alignment with our EDI statement, the SAFAC applies equitable funding decisions to represent the interest of the undergraduate students and enhances campus life by supporting the mission and values of Tulane.

The SAFAC is responsible for Reserve Funding Project requests, budget appeals, and distributes funds annually to 4 Council Allocation Committees (AC):

  • Club Sports Allocation Committee
  • Center for Intercultural Life (CIL) Allocation Committee
  • CACTUS/Service Allocation Committee
  • Lavin-Bernick Center (LBC) Allocation Committee

How is the SAFAC structured?

The SAFAC is co-chaired by a TUA Delegate and the Assistant Vice President for Campus Life in the Division of Student Affairs. The SAFAC is comprised of an Advisor and a student representative from each of the 4 ACs, who chair their respective AC. ACs are comprised of additional student representatives of RSOs that fall within their ACs specific focus area. These ACs make the funding decisions for their specific RSOs.
